Heather + Kyle | ArtsQuest Center at Steel Stacks
Heather & Kyle got married in Bethlehem, PA on Black Friday. I was excited about their wedding from the moment that I met them. Here was this awesome couple who had been dating for 10 years and they were getting married in my home town. They had also chosen to celebrate at my favorite Bethlehem venue, the ArtsQuest Center @ Steel Stacks. Heather told me that they chose Steel Stacks because they wanted something that spoke to their personalities and would wow their guests. The property is amazing. Many of the original Bethlehem Steel buildings have been preserved and re-purposed. Think modern meets industrial with a slight post-apocalyptic twist. Needless to say, I couldn't wait to document Heather & Kyle's wedding!
Despite the chill in the air, Heather & Kyle were married outdoors with the Blast Furnaces as the backdrop to their sweet ceremony. Kyle is a musician, so music played an integral role throughout their day. Friends of the couple played during the ceremony & cocktail hour and Kyle actually wrote the song that they first danced to, "I Don't Belong" performed by the wedding band, Generation Next. After a perfect evening, Kyle got up on stage to serenade his bride. I am so glad that I had the opportunity to photograph this amazing day.
From the Bride: "When we were planning our wedding, our biggest area of focus was FUN! We never wanted anyone to walk away saying, “oh that was SO beautiful” or “oh how elegant!” While we can appreciate that style, it wasn’t “us”. My biggest fear was getting married next to a putting green or golf cart…we wanted out of the box, big, and a blast. I think we accomplished that through the choice of our venue (industrial yet modern, easily accessible, and right next to a casino!), our music and the way all of the musicians could get involved, and the general vibe of the party. Everyone was dancing, drinking, and jumping in the photo booth. We accomplished everything we set out to, and our friends and family still rave about it! Just a fun, awesome day filled with love, laughs, and awesome memories." ~ Heather
