Kim + Marco | Honey Crisp Engagement
Kim and I met while I was working at the University of the Arts. I'd had the opportunity to see her work and really admired her documentary style. When my husband and I got married, I asked Kim to create a highlights reel for us from our wedding day and soon after that I began wanting to enhance the still documentation that I was offering to my own wedding clients by adding video options. I approached Kim about the collaboration and launched Nina Lily Cinema in 2012. Kim shoots and edits the highlights reels that I offer to my clients. We spend a lot of time collaborating on the projects and I'd had plenty of time to get to know Kim and hear all about her relationship with Marco; I felt like I'd known Marco for years before we actually met. So when Kim got engaged last year, I was thrilled that she asked me to document her wedding.
Kim and Marco decided that they didn't want a long engagement, which translated to them planning their wedding in four months! That meant a lot of DIY details needed to be executed right away. One important detail was Kim's signature cocktail, the Honey Crisp apple martini, made with vodka that she'd infused herself. I knew right away that I wanted to come along on the next apple picking adventure and we all agreed that an engagement session with a purpose would be the perfect way for Kim and Marco to loosen up in front of the camera.
We met at Solebury Orchards and had a beautiful evening exploring the grounds. We were the only people picking that evening and the layout of the trees felt like our own secret garden. It was so much fun finally having the opportunity to hang out with this couple and to get to know Marco in person! And Kim and Marco killed it on the other side of the camera!
Enjoy!
