Kasee + Alec | Bucks County Horse Park

I knew instantly that I wanted to photograph Kasee & Alec's wedding. Kasee & Alec are high school sweethearts who were together for 10 years before getting married last September. From our initial consultation I could tell that this couple was meant to be; they are obviously best friends and genuinely beam just being near each other. They were so excited to become husband & wife after years of growing & establishing a life together. I just loved their story & enthusiasm.

Kasee & Alec also had great ideas for their wedding day. They chose the picturesque setting of a local equestrian facility for their event, then planned & executed every detail of their DIY luncheon wedding. I've joked with Kasee that she really should switch careers because she did an absolutely amazing job putting together her beautiful event. Although there were some extremely menacing weather reports leading up to the wedding day, Kasee & Alec were wed under beautifully sunny skies at the Bucks County Horse Park. Later, we returned to the park to continue exploring the property for Kasee & Alec's "Day After" session.

From the Bride:"I can't say that I was one of those girls who dreamed of her wedding day since she was little. But, I knew from the beginning that Alec was the man I hoped to spend the rest of my life with. After he proposed, I was in full on wedding mode. I was a wedding planning junkie. Wedding magazines, Say Yes to the Dress, Pinterest... you name it, I was on it. (Wedding Planning) was a stressful but fun process.

My theme and color scheme changed several times over the course of planning but I am so happy with the way everything came out. The days leading up to our wedding were probably the most stressful. I got into a car accident, not my fault but a hilarious story for another day about karma. I watched the weather forecast every day and when it looked like it was going to rain I thought, “Could things get any worse?” Well I should have held my tongue on that one. After hitting a deer going from the rehearsal site to our rehearsal dinner, yep things could get worse! After some tears were shed, I couldn’t help but laugh. No matter what happened on our wedding day, I was marrying my best friend in front of our friends and family who love us.

I didn’t sleep at all the night before. I was so anxious. I had waited ten years for that moment. Our wedding day was not without a few hiccups but it was the best day of my life so far. I am so thankful that Christina convinced me to do a “First Look.” I was on the fence about the idea but it was an amazing moment for my husband and I to share.  It gave us a few quiet moments together and helped relieve some stress so we could truly enjoy our wedding day."

Ceremony & Reception | Bucks County Horse Park

From the Bride: "My husband has a lot of ties to Bucks County Horse Park. He worked as part of the grounds maintenance crew for several years while we were dating. My mother in law is an equestrian instructor and on the board of trustees at the park and my sister in law rides. I had visited Bucks County Horse Park many times over the years and just absolutely fell in love with the property. When we got engaged, I instantly knew that the park was where I wanted to get married. It was a funny turn of events. There was only one wedding at the Horse Park before ours. My husband worked there at the time and the entire grounds crew, including my husband, kept saying: Who would ever want to get married here?"
