Just like that, it has been a year since Jaimie and Robin’s marriage and wedding celebration.

Jaimie and Robin are a couple with deep family roots and common values of faith and community. Their quiet confidence and trust in my business, led to a memorable collaboration towards beautiful and honest documentation.

Sometimes I work with couples that seem to lead very different lives in faith, career and family than my own and within that difference is inspiration. There were many moments throughout the day that gave me pause and made me think what richness Jaimie and Robin had surrounded themselves with. Their deep faith and traditional values stirred my own spirituality. Their large support network and the unassuming way that they commanded the room by being authentic and loving, allowed me to reflect on my own family and friends.

On a very personal note. Jaimie and Robin’s wedding fell just days after our family’s day in court (see www.pajamasfortrauma.com for insight into my story). Going into the weekend, I did not know if I would have the courage to witness and document those tender moments that I knew I would see unfold on Jaimie’s wedding day. I had put my own support network in place should I falter and no one would be the wiser.

It’s not lost on me that Jaimie and Robin’s event was where I needed to sit with my grief that weekend. Their inherent kindness (not even knowing my situation) and the loving energy surrounding them through their own support network, lifted me up. I was worried about how a traditional wedding would feel after bearing such intense emotions and it was exactly where I was meant to be.

I appreciate every moment that I spent with Jaimie and Robin and hope that their authenticity and joy comes across in our documentation. I hope that they are doing well and are staying safe and healthy during these strange times.
