Jackie + Kevin | Union Trust Philadelphia Wedding

I've known Kevin for over a decade and although our paths have taken us different directions since our late 20's, we catch up from time to time and I've been so happy for him that he found such an awesome partner in Jackie. After almost having the opportunity to photograph the engagement (plans changed), I was thrilled when Jackie & Kevin contacted me to document their wedding day. I first met Kevin while working at the Ministry of Information. We became quick friends while bartending together and held a shift running the bar for over a year. We actually started a photo business back in the day, SPK Photography, which didn't have a chance because we were too busy livin' like rock stars! It's difficult to describe what a great moment in time that was and how it shaped the individuals we would become. I'm grateful for that world and the friends that I got to share it with, including Kevin. Working in the restaurant industry, you find that life can be a whirlwind; I think that in both of our cases, taking the time to enjoy the ride and absorbing the experience and really growing as individuals allowed us to meet our amazing partners.

That leads me to Kevin & Jackie's love story. Living in Philly and working in the industry, you typically know or recognize others in the scene. Although they had grown up in the Langhorn/Levittown areas, lived near 5th & Poplar during the Minfo years and then had subsequently both moved to Fishtown within blocks of each other, their paths hadn't crossed. Jackie & Kevin finally met via the Internet and had their first date at a local bar, Johnny Brenda's. The connection was immediate and within two weeks, Jackie had met Kevin's family and the couple was inseparable. It wasn't long before they knew that they had a forever together. On March 29th, 2014, Kevin proposed to Jackie following a romantic dinner at Villa Di Roma in South Philly. As an added surprise, (and nod to the first date that brought them together!) their best friends were waiting for them back at Johnny Brenda's to dance the night away.

A year later to the date, after a sweet first look at the Shambles at Headhouse Square, Jackie & Kevin were married at Union Trust in Philadelphia. I couldn't be happier for these two and am honored to have been able to document their day. Enjoy!
