HollyHedge Estate, set amidst wooded river views was the perfect backdrop for Sarah Petryk of Allium Floral Design and her team of fellow artisans to create an intimate winter micro-wedding for musician couple, Katherine DeMenno and Ross Huber of the band Summer Scouts. The team’s combined efforts were documented by photographer, Christina Campbell of Nina Lily Photography and cinematographer, Kim Bunce.

Inspired by a pair of hand-knit vintage socks from the Andes, Allium envisioned bold hues of fuchsia, burnt orange, navy and ultra violet woven throughout the ceremony and reception details. Music was also a key component, first as Katherine and Ross lounged in their cozy suite and later during a meaningful ukulele ceremony hosted by acclaimed celebrant, Alisa Tongg.

Katherine wore a Free People sweater dress and the BHLDN Medallian Gown by Tadashi Shoji beautifully; Ross donned a deep navy suit from J.Crew. Alisha Nycole + Co created a stronger hair and makeup look emphasizing a darker lip and Katherine’s natural facial contours. Katherine also wore her own heirloom ring featuring an exquisite sapphire stone that belonged to her mother.

Nina Lily began the day photographing the couple enjoying a calm morning of coffee, pastries and an acoustic duet. Katherine & Ross continued their morning by foraging for boutonniere florals before heading to the venue’s field stone hearth for their intimate ceremony. Perhaps the most unusual floral element was the bridal bouquet, housed in a single cocoon of branches that were were foraged on the designer’s trip to New England.

The ceremony hoop from Omnivent was strung with ethereal ribbons and magnolia leaves reminiscent of a luxurious winter wreath. Following the heartfelt ring exchange and ukulele serenade, Alisa orchestrated a whisky observance prior to the kiss. To finish the ceremony, the couple lit a unity lantern outside on the brick terrace.

In addition to the ceremony vignette, Allium created a gorgeous tablescape utilizing clear resin chiavari chairs, menu cards featuring calligraphy by Write Away For You and lush florals interspersed perfectly with dried elements reminiscent of the season. Fox & Finch Vintage Rentals supplied the evening lounge furniture which was set by the venue’s iconic fireplace.

Following portraits by the fire, Nina Lily Photography brought the couple to Ringing Rocks park where they chased the fading light for an intimate couples session on the boulders. The sunset portraits were the perfect end to a day filled with inspiration and promises.
