Brittany + Christopher : Philadelphia Engagement Session
I first met Brittany as she was completing her BFA in Photography at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Since I was working in the Media Arts Department at the time, I had had a lot of exposure to her beautiful portrait work. When I found out that she was following a similar path as mine towards wedding & portraiture photography post baccalaureate, I knew that I needed to contact her regarding working with Nina Lily Photography. Brittany has worked with me for several seasons as one of our 2nd Photographers while maintaining her own business, Brittany Ostrov Photography. You can view one of my favorite Nina Lily weddings that we photographed together here: Stephanie + Peter : Montauk Yacht Club This is all a long way of saying that I was thrilled when Brittany & Christopher invited me to document their wedding day next spring. There are many amazing east coast wedding photographers out there, so it is always an honor when a fellow photographer trusts you to capture their memories. On another note, many of you may not realize that for many of us, it is a totally strange experience to be in front of the camera. Being on the other side can be really intimidating! Early on, Brittany & I discussed the benefits of doing an engagement session together; last September, we finally had the opportunity. Although Brittany & Christopher are living in New Jersey outside of NYC, we opted to do the session in Philadelphia, since it has such a huge significance to the beginnings of their relationship. We decided to visit some landmark spots, including the Ben Franklin Bridge, Philadelphia City Hall and the Philadelphia Museum of Art, with a focus on reinventing the scenery. I had a great time working with this awesome couple and can't wait for their wedding! Enjoy!
